Just wondering whether anyone would like to see a news category where we can discuss current events happening in the world?

I'm currently following the Titan story closely. I know on social any discussion around the news tends to be leapt on with debate, made a meme out of or used as an identity prop in some way. So just wondering whether a general news chat without this stuff would be something that people would be interested in?

Yes that would be good. Particularly following the events of yesterday, which had me absolutely glued to the news all day!

The BBC has had some pretty decent live feeds recently. I used it a lot for the missing Titanic sub too.

I use Twitter for a lot of my news. I'm very much into politics so follow all the relevant journalists on my personal account. I don't use my personal Twitter account for social, but rather as a news aggregation service.

I don't use TikTok so wouldn't be able to comment on that. I assume the quality and trustworthiness of the content is fairly low?
